Start with the life you actually lead
Your country of residence is only part of the picture. Visits home, regional travel and a possible relocation can change the area of cover you need. Begin with a list of countries where you expect to live and receive treatment, then compare that list with the policy wording.
Public healthcare eligibility and an international medical policy are separate questions. Confirm your local registration obligations before deciding whether private insurance fills a gap or supplements an existing entitlement.
Read beyond the annual limit
Two policies with similar overall limits can offer different outpatient benefits, deductibles, cost shares and hospital access. Ask for the benefit schedule, exclusions and applicable policy wording together. A higher headline limit does not resolve a smaller limit on a treatment you expect to use.
An indicative quote is a starting point. Your application, health disclosures and the insurer’s acceptance determine the final terms. Keep written confirmation of any condition-specific decision.
